6.8/10

The hotel needs a refurb to bring it up to date as the rooms were like being in a school canteen and are looking very tired, in my eyes, out of service. The service was faultless, right down to the chamber maids, and they sorted everything out very quickly. The location was good for the St Ives center, although not advisable for those with walking difficulties due to the steep hill. The dining experience had good options for varying dietary needs but was buffet style, which may not be preferred during these times.

The hotel offers stunning views to Ives harbor and is good for a peaceful getaway, but the rooms are dated and the pricing may not be justified by the condition of the accommodations.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were dated and the bathroom needed a heater as the heating was not adequate. The overall condition was definitely not worth the money.
Service

The staff was very obliging and helpful, although there were instances of unwelcoming attitudes on certain occasions.
Location

The location offers beautiful views, but the property needs updating and modernization. The entrance can be hard to find due to poor signage.

I had a delightful stay at the hotel with large rooms offering a superb view over St Ives harbour. The castle-like atmosphere was charming, although the rooms felt a bit bare. The open plan layout was flooded with light, creating a spacious and inviting ambiance.

Rooms

The rooms were quite light and had an amazing open plan layout full of space.

6.2/10

The hotel room was disappointing, not living up to expectations for its price. The bed was small and uncomfortable, giving us both a bad back, and several amenities were missing or broken. On the bright side, the hotel looks beautiful, although we missed having a sea view.

Rooms
5.0
The room was big but very basic, lacking essential amenities like an iron and with some broken items. Maintenance work interrupted our relaxation time in the steam room.
Service
9.0
The staff were lovely and helpful, making us feel at ease and welcome with their warm service. They even remembered us each time we returned.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location was perfect, just a short walk into St Ives and offering a beautiful view from the top of the hill. However, the area was a bit run down with limited facilities.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a mix of good and bad. The food was well-cooked and tasty, but some dishes arrived cold, which was disappointing, especially given the price. The dining times were not very convenient for early starts.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has some nice facilities, but they could be better maintained and improved. While the dining experience was mixed, the dining area itself was lovely.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. The room had a breathtaking view and was equipped with quality amenities, although it could have been more comfortable. The service was mostly helpful and friendly, except for some confusion regarding the location. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring, offering stunning views over St Ives, though the steep walk back from the town could be challenging. The dining options were varied, catering to different tastes. Overall, a good value for money with some room for improvement.
